Bomb cyclone wind gust blows away previous record at Colorado Springs Airport

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A 96-mph wind gust during last week's blizzard blew away the previous wind gust record at the Colorado Springs Airport, the National Weather Service confirmed Friday.

The 96-mph gust was measured at 1:04 p.m. March 13, as a historic bomb cyclone blizzard was hitting the city.
