Woman wanted for felony menacing surrendered to deputies Friday evening

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — There was police activity in the area of 1100 Block of Cree Dr. and El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) asked the neighborhood to shelter in place for a precaution Friday evening.

According to a tweet from EPSO, they were dealing with a barricaded suspect. Deputies were called to the area just before 2 p.m. They were sent out to locate the suspect and located a woman wanted on a felony warrant for menacing.

EPSO said the suspect is Cindi Habberfield, 46. She has been previously arrested for failure to appear in court warrants.

At approximately 6:46 p.m., Tactical Support Unit communicated with her through loud verbal commands and she came out on her own. Her home was investigated for a few hours. She has been booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charges of:

  • Felony Menacing Real/Simulated Weapon (x2)
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Harassment

Those who live in the area were asked to secure their home and stay away from the doors and windows. They will receive another notification when the situation has been resolved.
