In an update, CCAFPD said firefighters were originally called to the 1600 block of Chestnut Street on a structure fire. Firefighters were advised that there was a mobile home in a mobile home park fully involved in fire.

When crews arrived, they found two mobile homes heavily involved, and a third was immediately threatened. CCAFPD said firefighters were able to contain the fire to the two mobile homes, and the third sustained minor damage.

CCAFPD said multiple people self-evacuated from the homes, and four people had to be taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the fire. No firefighters were injured, CCAFPD said. The American Red Cross is helping the families displaced with their immediate needs.

The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation by CCAFPD, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colorado Division of Fire Protection and Control.
