Fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 115 north of Penrose

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. — According to Colorado State Patrol, a man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Colorado Highway 115 Sunday morning just before 11 a.m.

The crash happened on Highway 115 at milepost 24 in Fremont County, according to CSP.

CSP says a 72-year-old man was traveling southbound on a 2000 Harley Davidson when he failed to navigate a left turn and went off the right side of the road.

The motorcycle flipped and he was thrown off the bike, according to troopers. He was not wearing a helmet and dies at the scene.

During the investigation, a few lanes of Highway 115 were blocked and officials suggested using I-25 as an alternate route.

There are no road closures, just blocked lanes at this time. Traffic is being detoured to alternate routes.
