COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) put out a fire at a home Wednesday afternoon where one person was inside sleeping.

The person was able to get out safely after a neighbor came to wake them up. Five people and two dogs reside in the home located at 2249 Sumter Dr.

When crews arrived there was heavy smoke and fire showing, according to CSFD. Firefighters say the home didn’t have working fire alarms.
