MONUMENT, Colo. — A suspect is dead after a chase with Colorado State Patrol and an El Paso County Sheriff’s deputy near Monument on Saturday.
Authorities responded to a menacing call around 5 p.m. they attempted to pull the car over however the driver ran into a guard rail. The driver then attempted to carjack someone but was unsuccessful and ran into a nearby house.
There were people inside the home. Deputies said the suspect fired at least one shot at law enforcement, so they returned fire and killed the suspect.
The man who was killed has been identified as Antonio Mancinone, 23, of Denver.
There were several vehicles on the I-25 northbound exit ramp to County Line Road (Exit 163) while there was Colorado State Patrol activity going on. A potential witness to these events was in a white Nissan sedan which was stopped behind a black SUV. The occupants of the black SUV have been located and identified. CSPD would like to interview the driver and any passengers who were in the white Nissan sedan.

No troopers were hurt.
Three state troopers and one EPCSO deputy are on administrative leave.
