We’re just months away from the 2018 Special Olympics, and Team Colorado is already on the road to making us all proud.
Twenty-nine athletes from all across the state took part in an intense training camp over the weekend. Athletes will compete in athletics, aquatics, unified soccer, bowling, and tennis.
Aquatics team member Nicholas Schreiber said he’s been part of Special Olympics since he was 9, and there’s no better feeling than being in the water, showing off his skills.
“When I see that water, and when I see that line and hear that beep, everything stops,” Schreiber said. “I just swim, and that’s all I can think about is just swimming.”
This year’s games will take place in Seattle in July.
