COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Check out this new angle of a quintessential Colorado Springs landmark. Photojournalist Mike Duran and pilot Josh Kimmel took our drone, SKYFOX21, to check out Glen Eyrie.
The castle just north of Garden of the Gods was built in 1904 by Gen. William Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs. It has 17 bedrooms, 24 fireplaces, and several European details. Palmer spent a year in Europe shopping for fixtures to put in the castle. An old bell on the top of a tower roof was manufactured by the same company that made the Liberty Bell.
