Two Fort Carson soldiers killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense announced Saturday the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

Spc. Joseph P. Collette, 29, from Lancaster, Ohio was assigned to the 242nd Ordnance Bbattalion, 71st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group. Sgt. 1st Class Will D. Lindsay, 33, of Cortez, Colorado, was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

Both soldiers were stationed at Fort Carson. 

The Department of Defense said that both soldiers died on Friday in Afghanistan when they encountered enemy fire during combat operations.
