Prosecutors have formally charged the students accused of opening fire inside STEM School Highlands Ranch last week, killing one student and injuring eight others.
The accused gunmen, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, were arrested at the school. Investigators say they opened fire inside using handguns.
The suspects are facing 48 charges apiece, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, arson, and theft. The 16-year-old was charged with first-degree murder as an adult, according to KDVR.
A memorial service for the student killed, 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo, is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at a Highlands Ranch church. Castillo and two other students have been credited with tackling one of the gunmen, disrupting the attack.
