Utopia All Natural Wellness Spa and Lounge LLC has submitted its application for one of Denver’s first Cannabis Consumption Establishment licenses.

The business would be the nation’s first fully licensed, state-legal cannabis spa, according to officials with Utopia.

Utopia will offer cannabis-infused massages, ganja yoga, and other cannabis-friendly activities to patrons 21 years and older, as well as meditation coaching, educational seminars, and patient support and networking groups.

Officials say Utopia will also have private memberships available that allow members to access the legally designated cannabis consumption areas.

Utopia will also feature a retail area for high-quality and locally sourced hemp products, natural health and beauty products, supplements, and cosmetics.

Additionally, the space would be a host to cannabis-friendly cooking classes, corporate retreats, and other private functions.

Cannabis or cannabis-infused products will not be sold.

“Our mission is to provide a place of retreat for cannabis consumers and access to high-quality products and services for those who wish to explore natural options for self-care,” said Utopia CEO Cindy Sovine, a Colorado native who has operated a government relations practice since 2006.

The Denver Department of Excise and Licenses created the licensing system for Cannabis Consumption Establishments in 2016. The measure allows businesses to apply for such licenses if they have received the official support of at least one Registered Neighborhood Organization (RNO) or Business Improvement District (BID).

Right now, Utopia has received the official support of five RNOs.
