(COLORADO SPRINGS) — One person has died following a crash that closed the southbound lanes of North Powers Boulevard Friday evening.
According to CSPD, officers responded just before 7 p.m. to the 5100 block of North Powers Boulevard, just south of Stetson Hills Boulevard, on a single car crash involving a fatality.
When officers arrived, they determined a car traveling south on North Powers Boulevard lost control, left the roadway and rolled, ejecting a passenger. The passenger was dead on scene, CSPD said.
The Major Crash Team was notified and responded to assume the investigation. CSPD said it is too early in the investigation to determine if speed or alcohol are factors in the crash.

The Stetson Hills division of CSPD said the crash on North Powers Boulevard has resulted in injuries and the roadway will likely be closed for several hours.

Southbound lanes of North Powers Boulevard are closed at Dublin Boulevard following a crash.
The Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) Communications Twitter account posted about the closure just after 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24.
CSPD asked travelers to avoid the area, as backups are likely due to the closure. Use caution and move over for law enforcement if you are traveling in the area.
