One victim dies, another in critical condition after Pueblo shooting

UPDATE: The Pueblo Police Department said that a patrolling officer was driving on Indiana Avenue when he saw a male laying face down on the sidewalk. As the officer turned the vehicle around to investigate, the officer heard dispatch announce that a shooting had just occurred near JDL Trailer Sales with multiple victims.

The found victim was given emergency medical attention and taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died from the wounds he sustained.

The second victim was an adult male walking to an area hospital as the officer arrived on the scene to care for the first victim. He was taken to a hospital by a local citizen and remains in critical condition.

Possible suspects from the shooting were pursued by vehicle and on foot. Despite attempting to close the 2400 block of Lake Avenue, neither suspect was located and is still at large.

UPDATE: A victim was found dead in the street by a patrolling officer. The other victim has been since transported to a hospital in Colorado Springs.

PUEBLO, Colo. — FOX21 is receiving reports that several police officers have converged near JDL Trailer Sales.

Information at this time is limited, but FOX21 has confirmed the situation is not at the nearby Sava Senior Citizen Center nor Minnequa Medicenter.
