The Wounded Warrior Project is teaming up with the Sky Sox for the first-ever Vet Fest at Sky Sox Stadium this Saturday.
More than 75 local organizations will set up booths during the family-friendly event, with the goal of helping show local veterans resources available to them in the community.
The event is free and open to veterans and the public.
“We’re looking forward to a great day of connecting our veterans with the resources that our community has,” Wounded Warrior Project alumni manager Greg Monck said. “This isn’t just for veterans, as well. This is open to the entire community to just come out and see all the incredible organizations and the services that they’re providing to our veterans.”
The event is happening Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Security Service Field in northeastern Colorado Springs. Events will include a Veterans Affairs town hall, a Veterans Affairs claim clinic, a career fair, a resource fair, and a softball tournament.
