Local dad and U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Richard Ganske got a little early Father’s Day present.
“My favorite thing is watching my kids grow up,” Ganske said. “My six boys and one daughter, and watching them grow through my eyes.”
Ganske has seven kids in total, ranging from ages 9 to 24. He was recently named the 2019 Colorado Haggar Hall of Fame Dad.
“I feel so proud,” Ganske said.
After several deployments and over 20 years in the service, he said his kids always came first.
“With all the years that my and my kids haven’t been together due to deployments and stuff, it’s a great honor,” Ganske said.
He is also a Purple Heart recipient.
His wife Carrie nominated him for the award.
Ganske is one of 50 state winners and will receive a Haggar Hall of Fame Dad jacket, which he is very excited about. Haggar is also giving him two pairs of pants and the suit.
