Beanie and glove drive for Homeless Veterans in winter

Military Matters

Winter is around the corner and one local brewery is making sure those who served our country are ready for the cold weather.

Veteran-owned Red Leg Brewing Company teamed up with the El Paso County homeless veterans coalition to collect winter attire for homeless vets.

Last year the brewery collected more than 900 pairs of socks and is determined to make this year equally successful.

“Especially going into holidays and winter time here, we know this stuff can be important. So we just sat around and thought what we can do,” said Owner of Red Leg Brewing Company, Todd Baldwin.  “Last year the goal was 100 pairs of socks. We raised over 900 it was a big accomplishment and we decided to do it again this year.”

If you’d like to donate bring your donations by the Brewery on Forge Road during business hours.

They will be collecting donations until Oct. 15.
