Another school year is upon us. Kids start heading back to class as early as August 2. Be ready for school zones and buses on the roads during your commute.

Here’s a look at start dates for districts around southern Colorado.

August 2: Falcon District 49

August 7: Miami Yoder JT60 (Secondary)

August 8: Miami Yoder JT60 (Elementary)

August 9: Peyton District 23, Harrison District 2, Edison District 54JT, U.S. Air Force Academy

August 13: Ellicott District 22, Fountain-Fort Carson District 8, Pueblo District 70,  Springfield RE-4 (grades 7-12), Fremont County RE-2,  Lamar RE-2 (grades 7-12)

August 14: Calhan RJ1, Huerfano District 1

August 15:  Academy District 20, Springfield RE-4 (grades K-6), Lamar RE-2 (K-6), Widefield District 3, Colorado Springs District 11

August 16: Cheyenne Mountain District 12 (grades K-6)

August 20: Peyton District 23 (Pre-K & Kindergarten), University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain District 12 (grades 7-12), Pueblo City Schools

August 21: Lewis-Palmer District 38

August 22: Fremont County RE-1 (grades K-9), Woodland Park RE-2

August 24: Fremont County RE-1 (grades 10-12), Manitou Springs District 14

August 27: La Junta Schools, Pikes Peak Community College, Trinidad District 1, Colorado College

August 28: Alamosa School District
