WANTED: Suspect in fatal shooting outside Astro Liquors identified

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police have identified the suspect in a fatal shooting outside Astro Liquors on Jan. 7. 

According to police, a no-bond warrant for first degree murder has been issued for 30-year-old Charles Valentino Lobato. 

Lobato is wanted in connection with the homicide of 35-year-old Shawnee Tapia, who was shot and killed outside the liquor store at S. Academy and Astrozon Boulevards. 

Lobato is described as a Hispanic man, 5'7", 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen with a mustache and goatee. He also has several tattoos, including a Broncos emblem on his chest and the word "Park" on his right hand. 

Police say Lobato's Facebook account includes several photos of himself with a shaved head. It is unknown if his head is shaved currently. 

Lobato should be considered armed dangerous. If you see him, call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867.
