Two people were killed in a crash at the Interstate 25 and Highway 105 interchange in Monument Friday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. Friday. Troopers said a Honda Passport SUV was headed southbound on Interstate 25 when the driver lost control. The SUV went off the right side of the road and crashed into a bridge abutment.

The driver, an 82-year-old man from Texas, died on the scene. The passenger was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Their names have not yet been released.

Troopers said the driver and passenger were both wearing their seatbelts. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
