Trap and skeet ranges added to Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex

Local

After several requests from the community, trap and skeet ranges have made their way to El Paso County.

The ranges are part of a partnership between El Paso County and Fort Carson. The ranges are located at the Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex. Two of the five lanes are available for shooting as of Friday.

Frank Jacobson, chief of the Fort Carson business division, said the ranges will help open a variety of opportunities for El Paso County residents.

“Now you can start working with trap and skeet leagues,” Jacobson said. “The people that are the purest of the sport, this is what they enjoy. So this is the piece that’s going to really open up to get more families and more shooters involved in our operation and our industry.”

The profits from the range will go to Fort Carson.
