This year, 13,000 children in Colorado Springs benefited from Toys for Tots.
The charity collects the toy donations and gives them out as Christmas gifts.
One woman walked by a drop-off location on Tuesday and became concerned.
“I’m upset that for two, maybe three Toys for Tots have been sitting in the window at Walgreens without being picked up after Christmas,” said concerned citizen Donna Black.
She took photos of the toys sitting inside the Walgreens, worried that some kids went without this holiday.
FOX21 checked in with Toys for Tots and they said they continue to collect toys through the end of the year so they have enough stock for next year. Additionally, some of the toys go to families who celebrate different holidays.
“We’re not just gonna leave toys out there,” said Russ Miller with Toys for Tots. “Every toy that comes in is going to go in the hand of a needy child, a less fortunate child.”
If you or your child received a toy for Christmas that you didn’t ask for or don’t like, you can still donate it until the end of the year in designated boxes. It will be saved and given away to kiddos with Toys for Tots next year.
