Some airlines waiving change fees ahead of midweek winter storm

A handful of airlines are waiving change fees for flights headed into, out of, and through the Rocky Mountain region Wednesday and Thursday.

A winter storm is forecast to hit much of the region Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.

Most of the airlines require passengers to travel into and out of the originally ticketed airports, and most require passengers to reschedule their trips within a certain time period. 

The following information is current as of Tuesday afternoon. 


Delta Airlines is allowing passengers to make a one-time change free of charge. 

  • Eligible travel dates: Wednesday and Thursday
  • Eligible airports: Colorado Springs Airport, Denver International Airport, and various airports in Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and South Dakota

Frontier Airlines is allowing passengers to make a one-time change without change fees or other restrictions. 

  • Eligible travel dates: Wednesday and Thursday
  • Eligible airports: Colorado Springs Airport, Denver International Airport, and various airports in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin
