Severe storms are possible across southern Colorado today. Isolated severe storms will pop up this afternoon and wind down in frequency and intensity as the sun goes down. Our main threat runs until about 7 p.m., with any lingering activity diminishing after 9 p.m.
The Severe T-storm Watch runs until 9 p.m. and covers all of the Eastern Plains. All of El Paso and Las Animas Counties are highlighted in this risk, but the EASTERN areas of these counties are under the highest risk.
Main threats are hail and strong wind gusts, although an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out, especially farther east. Stay weather aware and have your severe weather plan in place.
