Report: Colorado Springs ranks 64th most expensive city in US to rent this month

Colorado Springs recently ranked 64th most expensive city to rent this month in a national rent report by Zumper.

According to the report, an average 1-bedroom runs around $830 and a 2-bedroom apartment around $1,000.

Overall, the national 1-bedroom rent grew 4.6 percent to $1,300, while two bedrooms had a smaller bump, up 0.5 percent to $1,398 last month. 

San Francisco took the top spot as most expensive, with a 1-bedroom averaging $3,400. New York, New York and San Jose, California rounded up the top three.

Some cities that moved down in the rankings include Chicago, Illinois and Nashville, Tennessee.

The Zumper National Rent Report analyzes rental data from over 1 million active listings nationwide. Data is aggregated on a monthly basis to calculate median asking rents for the top 100 metro areas by population. The report is based on all data available in the month prior to release.
