PUEBLO, Colo. — Thursday, Mayor Nick Gradisar used his second State of the City address to recognize the parallels between the pandemic of 2020 and the flood that destroyed downtown Pueblo nearly 100 years ago.
Gradisar said much like the city’s ancestors, the people of Pueblo now will build back even better, and 2021 will be a time for recovery and rebuilding.
The mayor touched on the funds made available for local businesses, as well as the relief programs for rent, mortgage assistance, and hunger relief, plus the lack of funding for infrastructure projects in Pueblo.
Due to the pandemic, the event was closed to the public.
