Power restored to most customers in southern Colorado

Utility crews have restored power to thousands of homes that were knocked out by Wednesday’s blizzard. 


Colorado Springs Utilities said as of 7 a.m. Friday, 169 customers remain without power in their service area. There are a total of 18 different outages. They expect everyone’s power to be restored Friday.

Mountain View Electric Association crews restored power to more than 5,000 members overnight. 

The utility expects power to be restored to customers in Black Forest by the end of the day Friday. Crews there are still replacing downed poles and lines caused by wind and falling trees. 

The utility is still working to replace 36 poles and lines that fell in Yoder. They hope to have this task complete by Friday, but may have to work into Saturday.
