A portion of Pikes Peak Avenue between downtown and Memorial Park will close for about two months starting Saturday.
The road will be closed in both directions between Institute Street and Hancock Avenue so crews can install new underground utilities and do road work. The closure starts at 6 p.m. Saturday and is expected to last about two months.
During the closure, eastbound drivers will be detoured south on Institute Street, east on Cucharras Street, and north on Hancock Avenue. Westbound drivers will be detoured north on Hancock Avenue, west on Platte Avenue, and south on Wahsatch Avenue.
