A portion of Hancock Avenue will be closed for construction for three weeks starting Wednesday.

The road will be closed in both directions between East Kiowa Street and East Cucharras Street. The closure includes the intersection with Pikes Peak Avenue. The closure is expected to last about three weeks.

Pikes Peak Avenue remains closed between South Institute Street and Union Boulevard due to the same construction project.

Side streets east of Hancock Avenue and south of Kiowa Street, including Sheridan, Meade, Foote, Farragut, and Logan avenues, will be restricted to local traffic only.

Drivers will be directed to use the following detours:

  • Northbound Hancock Avenue traffic will be diverted west on Cucharras Street, then north on Institute Street, then east on Platte Avenue.
  • Southbound Hancock Avenue traffic will be diverted west on Platte Avenue, then south on Institute Street, then east on Cucharras Street.

All businesses along Pikes Peak Avenue will remain open and can be reached by side streets.
