This fall, the Pikes Peak Library District is expanding east to Calhan.
PPLD bought the existing 2,400-square-foot building at 600 Bank Street in Calhan. They hope to open their 15th library facility in that building in early fall.
Currently, PPLD’s easternmost library facility is in Falcon. The Calhan area is served only by the library’s Bookmobiles, according to PPLD.
PPLD will host a community conversation to allow Calhan-area residents to share input about what resources and programs they’d like to see in the new library, as well as what hours the library should be open. The meeting is April 25 at 7 p.m. at the Calhan Town Hall at 556 Colorado Avenue. They’re also accepting feedback through an online survey.
