Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is giving back with its annual Women Build event.
The event honors women of El Paso County who are committed to giving back. It’s all part of National Women Build Week, where women come together to help build an affordable home in their communities.
In previous years, nearly 100,000 women from all 50 states have volunteered.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase that the community can get involved a lot better,” volunteer Lori Burt said. “I think we all need to become more aware of what we can do for the people that live in our community, and basically just know that we can make a difference.”
The next Women Build projects are scheduled for August.
