Easter egg hunts were held all around southern Colorado Sunday. We checked out one in the Patty Jewett neighborhood in Colorado Springs.
Dozens of kids searched for eggs at the Casa Verde Commons cohousing community.
The event was put on by the Peppermint Patties kids group, to encourage people to socialize with their neighbors.
“Sometimes when we’re working and busy with school and activities, we just are homebodies,” Sarah Dipasquale with Peppermint Patties said. “So if we offer a community event within our neighborhood, people are more bound to walk right out the door, walk down the street, and meet their neighbors.”
The kids in the neighborhood even dyed some eggs beforehand.
