Multiple fire crews responded to an outside fire on Highway 94 east of Colorado Springs Sunday afternoon.

The fire started around 3:30 p.m. along Highway 94 between mile markers 5 and 6, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. That stretch of highway is just east of Space Village Avenue.

The Ellicott Fire Department said it burned 10 to 15 acres. The fire is now contained, but crews are on the scene mopping up hot spots.

No one was injured and no structures were damaged in the fire, according to fire crews. There’s no word on what caused the fire.

The highway remains open, but drivers should anticipate delays and watch out for crews working in the area.
