A man has died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash in Black Forest earlier this month, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash happened May 5 on Highway 83 just south of Benet Lane. Troopers said Jack Sage, 43, of Castle Rock was headed southbound when he rapidly decelerated and lost control of his motorcycle. The motorcycle rolled, ejecting Sage. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Troopers said Sage was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol and excessive speed are not considered factors in the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Trooper Gary Schaaf at 719-635-0385.
