MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. — The Manitou Springs police chief has been placed on administrative leave for an unspecified reason, according to the city.
The city said in a statement Monday that Chief Brian Churchill has been on administrative leave since Thursday.
“The City cannot provide any additional information at this time as it is a personnel matter,” the statement said.
According to the Manitou Springs city-run website, “Churchill was appointed the Chief of the Manitou Springs Police Department on October 1, 2019.”
Church arrived to Manitou after serving the Indianapolis Police Department since 1995.
A Manitou Springs representative said Detective Bill Otto will take over as acting police chief.
