A man died at a Pueblo hospital after an altercation with police Sunday afternoon.
Police said around 3:25 p.m., they were called to the area of Interstate 25 and Eagle Ridge Boulevard to investigate a report of a man who was acting erratically and walking back and forth across all four lanes of the interstate.
When officers arrived, they tried to talk to the man, but he refused to stop and continued darting in and out of traffic, according to police. Officers were eventually able to get him to move off the interstate, but when they approached him, he began to fight with them. The officers tased him, but he continued to resist arrest, according to police. He was handcuffed and taken to the hospital, where he died.
The man’s name has not yet been released, and police have not said how he died. Police said the officers involved have been placed on routine administrative leave.
