Local breakfast spot King’s Chef Diner is opening a third location next month in Fountain. 

King’s Chef made the announcement on their Facebook page Thursday. The restaurant, which is known for its green chili, has two locations in downtown Colorado Springs, including a distinctive castle-shaped spot on Costilla Street. 

The new location is set to open in August in the former Sarges’ Grill space at 6436 South Highway 85/87 in Fountain.

Sarges’ closed abruptly in June

King’s Chef has been in business since 1956, according to their website. The restaurant won three first-place awards in the Colorado Springs Independent’s 2017 Best of Colorado Springs, including Best Green Chile, Best Diner, and Best Cheap Eats.
