Intersection of Hancock and Pikes Peak to close two months for construction

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Another portion of Pikes Peak Avenue will close for construction for two months starting Thursday. 

The intersection of of Pikes Peak Avenue and Hancock Avenue will close at 8 p.m. Thursday and remain closed until mid-January. Crews will be installing new underground utilities and doing roadway work. 

Pikes Peak between Hancock and Institute will remain closed during the construction. Institute will reopen from High Street to Cucharras Street. 

Drivers on eastbound Pikes Peak will be diverted north on Institute Street, east on Platte Avenue, and south on Union Boulevard. 

Drivers on westbound Pikes Peak will be diverted north on Union Boulevard. west on Platte Avenue, and south on Institute Street.
