Governor orders flags lowered in honor of Fort Carson soldier who died in Afghanistan

DENVER - Flags across the state will be lowered to half-staff Monday in honor of a Fort Carson soldier who died in Afghanistan. 

Gov. John Hickenlooper ordered the flags to be lowered on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset in honor of Staff Sgt. Diobanjo Sanagustin. 

Sanagustin, 32, died in a non-combat-related incident in Afghanistan on September 4. He was with the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson. 

Sanagustin is survived by his wife, son, and parents.
