Gov. John Hickenlooper visited the Spring Fire on Friday, along with Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner.
“The integration between the local firefighters, the state firefighters, the support services and the federal firefighters has been remarkable,” Hickenlooper said.
They visited other fires in the state on Friday, too.
“So far, no loss of life,” Hickenlooper said. “So far, damage to buildings is a fraction of what it could’ve been.”
Both Hickenlooper and Gardner let fire victims know the state of Colorado is on their side.
“This is Colorado strong right here,” Gardner said. “The community, I hope, recognizes that long after the smoke is gone, the support remains.”
“The most important thing to make sure is that everyone in this fire zone knows that the state is with them,” Hickenlooper said.
