FOX21 News has hired Emily Roehler as the team’s new Evening Meteorologist.

Roehler will join the evening news team in early October and will handle the 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. broadcasts.

“Emily brings a unique weather knowledge to FOX21, having already served in the Colorado Springs-Pueblo market previously with KKTV,” FOX21 News Director Joe Cole said.

Roehler is a Phoenix native, but said she “doesn’t miss the heat!” She graduated with honors with her bachelor’s in Meteorology from Western Connecticut State University. She began her weather career in Kearney, Nebraska, spending two years forecasting tornadoes, ice storms and everything in between.

After that, she made the move to beautiful Colorado Springs, where she spent four years at KKTV forecasting in the challenging mountain terrain, hiking fourteeners, and enjoying the beautiful mountain views. After her time in the Springs, Roehler moved up to Denver, where she forecast the weather across the country. Roheler said she’s happy to be back in Colorado Springs again with the team at FOX21.

“Emily continues to strengthen the knowledge and presentation skills of the FOX21 Storm Team and the commitment we have to the people of southern Colorado,” FOX21 Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister said. “Emily broadcasts with a smooth, comfortable and conversational delivery.”

FOX21 Meteorologist Maddie Kirker will continue to work the weekday evening shift until Roehler makes her on-air debut in early October. Kirker and Chester the Weather Dog will then resume their role on the popular FOX21 Weekend Morning News show.
