The fight over the future of North Cheyenne Cañon continues. Former county commissioner Jim Bensberg hand-delivered a formal appeal of the proposed master plan Thursday.
It was signed by several concerned citizens, including former parks advisory board members.
Bensberg is now the founder of Cheyenne Cañon Conservationists.
“We’d like community members and citizens and recreationists alike to know that the city is proposing a series of changes to both north and south Cheyenne Cañon that will affect them in the future and may affect local property values as well,” Bensberg said.
The appeal requests a formal public hearing by city council to review the plan and remove specific items the group found to be objectionable.
