COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Investigators have been unable to determine the exact cause of a fire that destroyed a southwestern Colorado Springs home Friday.
The fire started around 6:15 a.m. Friday at a home on Wedgewood Court, which is in a neighborhood just east of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
Firefighters said the two residents were awakened by smoke alarms. They and their dog got out safely before police arrived. No one was injured.
Investigators determined the fire started at or near a gas grill. Due to the extensive damage, they weren't able to determine exactly where or how it started.
