UPDATE (4/15 3:01 p.m.) — Fort Carson Fire and Emergency personnel continue to battle a wildland fire on a Fort Carson training range as of Friday morning.

Current estimates of the burned area sit at 210 acres, but Fort Carson stated in a press release that the fire is now about 40% contained. There are still no structures or personnel threatened. Smoke will continue to be visible along the Highway 115 corridor as crews work to increase containment.

FORT CARSON, Colo. — Fort Carson Fire and emergency personnel as well as mutual aid partners from Stratmoor Hills, Security, and Highway 115 fire departments are currently fighting a wildland fire on a Fort Carson training range.

The fire is approximately 30 acres, but no structures or personnel are threatened.

Smoke will be visible along the Highway 115 corridor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
