The driver who crashed into the garage of a northern Colorado Springs home Monday morning has died from her injuries, according to police.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. Firefighters said the woman was driving westbound on Dublin Boulevard at a high rate of speed when she lost control and crashed into the garage of a home at the southwest corner of Dublin and Lemonwood Drive.
The driver, 81-year-old Anna Kilmer, was taken to the hospital and died the next day, according to police. An autopsy will determine how she died.
The homeowner was on the other side of the house at the time of the crash and was not injured.
Police said Kilmer’s death is the 19th traffic-related death in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there were 13.
