Cybersafe: Stopping human trafficking


A special event is happening this weekend in Colorado Springs to raise awareness of human trafficking issues.
The second annual Run to Break the Chain event supports Operation Underground Railroad and Restore Innocence.. their mission to end sex trafficking..
  The United States is the leading consumer of child pornography.  Man have connected it to a direct link to the problem.
    Some trafficking cases start with the offender contacting the potential victims on social networking sites such as Facebook . The offenders try to gain trust by   expressing admiration of the victim, promising to make the victim a star, and providing a ticket to a new location away from the victim’s home. 
     Other trafficking efforts start with an online employment search and results in an unsuspecting victim relocating from her home on the promise of an unbelievably good job.
   They often prey on victims who have an absent parent,  where drugs or alcohol abuse is prevelant. 
  And, domestic violence exists within the family. 
  This Saturday is the second Run to Break the Chain.  It starts with a one mile run, 5k and 10k.  It all starts at 6pm through 10pm.  To register, go to .
