Two killed in crash on Highway 24 between Calhan and Limon

SIMLA, Colo. — Two people were killed when a passenger vehicle and a semi collided on a snowy Highway 24 between Calhan and Limon Thursday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 6:40 a.m. near Elbert County Road 133.

There’s no word on what caused the crash. The victims’ identities have not yet been released.

The highway was closed in both directions while crews cleaned up the crash. It reopened around 12:30 p.m.
