A Colorado Springs teen is hoping to ease the pain of menstrual cramps with a new invention.
At just 12 years old, Natileyah-Zantae Ward thought to create a purse with a heating pad built on the inside.
The purses, called The NuuChi, are all designed by Ward’s family and can be carried around and placed on the back or stomach.
Now at 16 years old, the young entrepreneur hopes to raise enough money to cover manufacturing costs.
Natileyah-Zantae says her family’s support helped bring her invention to life.
“With me, I can see something, but I can’t really draw or design or anything, so I saw what I wanted the purse to be and I had people help me create it,” Natileyah-Zantae said.
Natileyah-Zantae hopes one day her product becomes popular enough that she can raise money to build her own lab and study the autoimmune disease lupus. She hopes to one day find a cure to heal her mom.
If you’d like to learn more about The NuuChi or donate, Natileyah-Zantae has an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for manufacturing costs.
