Colorado Springs students help principal donate hair to cancer patients

Local

Students at Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning were cheering on principal Nikki Myers Friday as she cut her hair for a good cause.

Myers first donated her hair in August 2012 as her mother was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Her mother is now in remission and doing well. Her hair has grown long again since then, so she was ready to donate it once more.

This time, students representing the classes who donated the most toward the school’s Pennies for Patients campaign got to help with the haircut.
