Colorado Springs is tied for first place on U.S. News & World Report’s “25 Most Desirable Places to Live in the U.S. in 2019”.
Olympic City USA shares the number one spot with three other cities including Portland, Honolulu, and San Francisco.
“It’s not too surprising just look around you,” said Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers. “There’s no place like Colorado Springs.”
This is the second year in a row Colorado Springs was named number one on the “Most Desirable” list.
Colorado Springs also ranks number three on the “Best Places to Live” list and number 33 on “Best Places to Retire.”
“I mean Colorado Springs is obviously a beautiful place,” said Devon Thorsby, Real Estate Editor at U.S. News & World Report. “It offers a lot and I can see the enthusiasm in the people I’ve spoken to about the growth about business opportunities.”
Thorsrby says the “Desirable” list was put together after surveying people throughout the country. They also take into consideration factors like affordability, job market and population growth due to net migration for “Best Place to Live” rankings.
Colorado Springs marked the honor with a celebration inside the Garden of the Gods Vistors Center. Speakers included Mayor Suthers, Doug Price, Tammy Fields, and 2018 Olympian Sgt. First Class Nate Webber.
