Colorado Springs ranked #3 on Best Places to Live list

Colorado Springs and Denver have traded places in the U.S. News Best Places to Live rankings. 

Colorado Springs is ranked #3 on this year’s list, which was released Tuesday.

Austin, Texas, topped the list, while Denver came in second. 

Last year, Colorado Springs came in second, while Denver ranked third. The second-place ranking was a big jump from 2017, when Colorado Springs ranked 11th. 

The annual list ranks the country’s 125 most populous metropolitan areas based on affordability, job prospects, quality of life, desirability, and net migration.

  5. Des Moines, Iowa

  8. Portland, Oregon
  9. Seattle, Washington
  10. Raleigh & Durham, North Carolina
